The state, amounts, ticks and quote you enter are not uploaded to typicalhomeinsurancecost.com, and no other company receives them through this site. No cookies are set. What the browser does keep, so the tools remember you next time, is listed key by key below; nothing else is written.

The color and appearance choices are also copied into the tab's own name (as **thm-theme=** and **lk-look=**), so a page you open next in the same tab starts in the right colors even where storage is blocked; that copy disappears when the tab closes.

## Offline copy of the site

After a first visit over https, a service worker keeps a copy of the site's own pages, styles, scripts and icons in Cache Storage, under a name that starts with **v-** followed by the build. It holds files from this site only, never anything you typed. A new version of the site replaces the old copy on your next visit; clearing this site's data or removing the installed app deletes it.

## A spreadsheet only when you ask

Pressing a download button makes a CSV file on your device from figures already on screen. It goes wherever you save it, and nothing is sent anywhere in the process.

## What the host's servers see

Cloudflare serves every page of this guide. Like any web server, it receives the IP address and browser details of each request, which it needs to deliver pages and keep attacks out. That data is not used by us to track anyone or build profiles. No analytics or advertising scripts run on the site.

## Your rights in US states and elsewhere

A growing number of US states, and the EU's GDPR, give people the right to learn what personal information a business holds about them and to have it corrected or deleted. Using the calculators gives us nothing to hold, since the entries stay on your device. If you have emailed us, ask at contact@typicalhomeinsurancecost.com and we will send, correct or delete what we have.

## When you write to us

An email is kept while the point it raises is open and deleted after that. We reply from it and put your address to no other use.
